Who we are

In 1963, Fèlix Triana and Mª Rosa Vila decided to embark on a business venture in a small premises in the San Andreu neighbourhood of Barcelona.

He, with training as a plastic injector, and she, with experience in administration and commerce, began their business venture as freelancers with the help of a bank loan.

At that time, Catalonia had a thriving local pharmaceutical industry, along with production plants belonging to foreign multinationals. Pills and capsules were traditionally sold in glass containers, but the market was beginning to incorporate plastic as a new alternative.

Triana was able to respond to this new demand by manufacturing tubes, caps and boxes for medicines.

Thanks to the growth in production, in 1970 the factory moved to larger premises in the Verneda district, where the first offset printing machine for decorating packaging was acquired.

After 1976, the current name and legal form was established: Industrias Plásticas Triana, S.A.

To meet the requirements of manufacturing medical items, a classified cleanroom was opened in 1989. It was from the 90s that the catalogue of its own product began to expand, incorporating containers of up to 1 litre for food use, and exporting a large part of the production.

Constant growth led, in 1997, to move the company to the current facilities in Barberà del Vallès.

In 2000, items with CE marking were already being manufactured. Since this year, the company has also been certified with ISO 9001.

In 2001, the AEMPS was obtained, the prior sanitary operating license.

In 2012, ISO 13485 certification was obtained.

In 2025, it has obtained the UNE-EN 15343 (May 2025) and ISCC PLUS (June 2025) certifications, thus consolidating its commitment to recycling traceability, sustainability and responsible production.
